Panama, February 19, 2025 – At the headquarters of the Panama Olympic Committee, the Executive Committee of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) held its working meeting today from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The meeting was attended in person by the President of ODESUR, Camilo Pérez López Moreira (PAR), along with the First and Second Vice Presidents, Mario Moccia (ARG) and Paulo Wanderley (BRA), the Treasurer Marco Arze (BOL), Vocal I Damaris Young (PAN), and the president of the Athletes Commission, Inés Remersaro (URU). Virtually, the Secretary General Miguel Ángel Mujica (CHI) and Vocal III José Luis Echeverry (COL) participated.
During the session, key topics for the development of South American sports were discussed, including:
Commission Reports: Progress was presented by the Technical, Athletes, Equity, Women and Safe Sports, and Sustainability Commissions.
Candidacies for Future South American Games: Panama was presented as a candidate city to host the 2026 South American Youth Games, along with the report from the Evaluation Commission.
Santa Fe 2026 South American Games: Progress made by the organizing committee for the upcoming South American Games was reviewed.
2027 South American Beach Games: Presentation of the City of Mar del Plata, Interested in Hosting the 2027 South American Beach Games
ODESUR continues to work on strengthening sports in the region, promoting organizational excellence, and fostering the development of new host cities for the South American Games.
